With lots of questions being asked in Chat, we decided to write this up to answer various common questions.
If the video loads too slow or doesn’t show up at all please follow these general steps:
Q: Why won’t divx videos (for example StageVu) load?
A: You need to download Divx. Divx is free and needed to watch almost all of the videos here. You can download it at http://www.divx.com/divx/windows/ It too, is free. Make sure to close your browser and reopen after installing Divx webplayer.
Q: My country is banned from Veoh, what can I do?
A: Well you can move to a different country… no seriously, look for an alternative video player, or request that we add an alternative source..
Q: Why does the Veoh video stop after 5 minutes?
A: Veoh videos longer than 30 minutes require VeohTV or the Veoh webplayer to watch. For some countries that are not blocked from using Veoh all videos are previews and you always need to go and watch the videos at Veoh.com.
Q: Why can I only watch 52-72 minutes of Megavideo?
A: It’s a policy at megavideo.com, without being a paying premium member you can only watch a limited amount of video in one sitting before you have to wait 1-2 hours. If your Internet connection is using dynamic IP numbers you can bypass this and reconnect with a new IP number. Read more tips here.
Q: Why do 4shared videos say that I need a some kind of subscription?
A: All 4shared hosted videos got a download limit per day, which is exceeded if too many people download the video on the same day. Look for an alternative video player or wait and try early the next day.
Q: Why is my video stopping and playing randomly?
A: 99.9% this is caused by your connection, the video isn’t fully buffered (downloaded), hit pause and wait a few minutes for the buffer bar (the bar that goes ahead of the video progress marker… not visible in all media players…) Depending on your Internet connection some videos can take a long time to buffer.
Q: Why is the video loading so slowly? Is it your server?
A: All of our videos are hosted off site, so it is not our speed problem. However if site navigation is slow, it is either your ISP, or it is us and we are probably aware of it and working to fix it.
Q: A video doesn’t seem to work at all, what should I do?
A: Please report all broken video links using the reports form located directly under the videos. Remember to read the instructions.
Q: Why do I get full page huge pop-up ads on every page I visit?
A: You are blocking cookie files, either by having too tight (above defaults) security settings in your browser or by using a second grade anti-spyware or adware program that doesn’t work properly. Turn the crap off and you won’t have problems.
Q: Whats that annoying beep sound I keep hearing?
A: That might be the chat, even if it’s set to mute by default. It can be muted by hitting the speaker in the bottom left corner. Beeps can also come from some advertising banner but that’s rare, in that case reload the page until you get ads that don’t make sounds.
Q: I don’t see an Anime on here that I like, can you add it?
A: Request it using the form mentioned just above, we will try to add links for it!
Q: When does the new Bleach/Shippuden/any continuing anime going to be out?
A: Most continuing animes are released every week. Be patient! It can take time for some of them to get subtitles.
Q: What are the chat rules?
A: The chat rules are:
1. No external linking to porn, offensive, or similar anime sites. Linking to a page on kumby is fine (duh!).
2. No spamming, you will be banned/warned.
3. Don’t be annoying, repeating things over and over again is considered spam.
4. Not a requirement, but we would appreciate anyone using the chat to create a chatango account, it only takes a couple of seconds and it makes it much easier for us or any other users to get to know you.
Failure to abide by these rules will result in a warning, and if continued, banned from chat.
Q: Are bans permanent?
A: It all depends on who banned you and for what reason, you can always resolve the issue and be unbanned.
Q: My picture in chat isn’t loading, whats wrong?
A: You have to refresh the chat box.
Q: I have a problem with the video and your solutions above don’t work.
A: Try downloading and using firefox. Other solutions include refreshing the page, restarting your computer, or disabling a firewall (Some firewalls block divx). Also if your computer is slow try all windows, except the one with the video on it. If you’ve just installed the Divx web player or updated your Flash plugin, restart your web browser.

A: Right now no, but you can adjust the your browser window or scroll so that the chat isn’t visible… since it’s located below videos
